Kigali, August 15, 2025 — Club Rafiki was alive with energy and inspiration as young people gathered for “EDU-FUN FIESTA,” an engaging youth event presented by Our Past Initiatives. This one-of-a-kind experience blended fun, creativity, and impactful learning to address key issues facing today’s youth — from alcohol and substance abuse to financial literacy — all through the power of music, art, games, and open conversation.
Far from a typical lecture, Edu-Fun Fiesta created a safe, vibrant space where participants could connect, express themselves, and learn in ways that truly matter. The event featured live performances, interactive games and competitions, and peer-led discussions that encouraged honesty, confidence, and personal growth.
In partnership with Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) and Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), participants received life-changing insights into healthy lifestyle choices and practical financial management skills. The basketball competitions and creative showcases added an extra spark of excitement, proving that education and entertainment can go hand in hand.
“We believe in connecting with young people, not talking at them,” said organizers from Our Past Initiatives. “When youth understand the impact of their choices on their health, relationships, and goals, they make better decisions—because they want to.”
By the end of the day, #EduFunFiesta had left everyone smiling, motivated, and inspired to live smarter, healthier, and more financially aware lives. It was a day that truly embodied what we call education with purpose.
